The objective of this work was to learn the fundamentals of editorial design and put in practice in one month (May 2023), choosing a book of our liking that preferably had already been published to develop a new layout and cover for it.
The choosen one by me was "Semantic Error", which is a series of books written by Jeo Soori that has six volumes and was first published in 2018.
My goal with this project was to transform the reading into a unique experience, where readers can feel each emotion of the characters as if they were their own feelings, through a special illustrated and colored hardcover edition.
Study the perfect margins, typography, book size and the paper usage, colors, references, story elements and make a moodboard. In addition, we also had to create a fictional small publishing company in order to understand our target audience and their needs.
With the concepts defined, the main goal was to create a book cover and layout following the common structure of a book.
